No trip to Portrush is complete without a trip to the beach. West Strand is ideal for families, wide, clean, and perfect for building sandcastles, playing football, or simply paddling in the sea. West strand is in proximity to all the action in the town centre and amusements nearby with a beautiful promenade that you can wander along .


East strand is a is a bit quieter and stretches for miles onto Whiterocks Beach, making it great for a peaceful walk while the kids hunt for shells. East strand is a great beach for surfing, bodyboard and paddle boarding. There’s also the Arcadia play-park looking out over the beach. Suitable for toddlers and young children, it has a paddling pool, complete with a dedicated play area with giant sand toys, rope swings and climbing frames.


For a dose of excitement, head to Barry’s Amusements. This iconic amusement park is a hit with kids and nostalgic for adults. From gentle rides for younger children to more thrilling options for teens, there’s something for everyone.


The play park at Ramore Head is a greatĀ  area surrounded by the beautiful views at. The new recreation grounds have been brilliantly designed and well constructed for the whole family.


Want to see some fish? Check out the Coastal Zone (open high season only) with discovery pools and tanks give visitors the chance to see and learn more about Northern Ireland’s marine and coastal wildlife.
