Nestled in County Down, Seaforde Gardens is a great day out. Crafted across a historic 18th‑century walled garden and lush arboretum, it’s bursting with adventures for little explorers and grown-ups too!

The Maze

The star attraction is the historic hedge maze. This maze, planted in 1975, is Ireland’s oldest “living” puzzle! Winding through hornbeam hedges, it’s the centrepiece for playful challenges. It’s big enough to feel like a real adventure, but not too scary for younger kids.

Gardens

Seaforde Gardens are full of winding paths, colourful blooms, and even exotic plants. Roam through hidden micro‑climate zones filled with rare shrubs, exotic Eucryphia trees, and champion conifers from all over the world, some over 150 years old! A peaceful herb garden leads up to a charming Mughal Tower, where kids can climb and scan the maze runners below.

Butterfly House

The wee ones love the Butterfly House, where tropical butterflies flutter all around you. Free-flying beauties like the Blue Morpho, King Page Swallowtail, Malachite and Scarlet Peacock dance around you. The warm, plant-filled atmosphere feels like a mini jungle

Play area

The grounds are perfect for kids to run, jump, and let their imaginations roam, with some swings, slide and play house.
