The main event if you’re there with your wee ones. This play park has modern equipment featuring swings, slides, a helicopter climbing frame and some fab tunnels and slides. It’s all safely enclosed, with seating for grown-ups while keeping an eye on the wee ones. The ground surface is safety-friendly.
Beyond the play park, Ballyarnett has loads of space for a wander. The paths are wide and suitable for buggies or scooters, and you’ll spot ducks and birds around the ponds.
If your kids like a little bit of nature spotting, bring binoculars they’ll see all sorts fluttering about in the trees and along the water.
Ballyarnett Country Park is famously linked to Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. She landed in a nearby field in 1932 after a 15-hour flight from Newfoundland! There’s a sculpture in the park celebrating her achievement. Great for a wee photo-op, and a fun way to sneak some history into your adventure.
