If you’re hunting for some ways to save some money on holiday this year then a top tip is to stay local, a staycation is the perfect excuse to avoid the costs and fuss involved with heading abroad.

When searching somewhere for a family holiday it can be tricky. You need to get the balance right. Having time to relax but also making sure the kids don’t get bored.

That’s the beauty of staying somewhere that has play park facilities on site. This way you can have some chill time but there’s also plenty to do onsite to keep kids occupied and also burn off their energy.

So to make things even easier for you, here’s my roundup of some sites across stunning locations all over Northern Ireland. So whether you’re looking for an active outdoor adventure, seaside beach break camping, glamping or using the caravan there is a perfect location for every family.

Cottages & Glamping

Robins Cottage

Situated just outside Cookstown, nestled in the open countryside and with fantastic views of the Sperrin Mountains. Robins cottage is situated beside the family run farm. Featuring a fantastic outdoor play area and patio so the family can have some chill time on their mini break.

Fairhead Lodge

The Bakers Cottages

Bluebell lane Glamping

Bramley Haven

Set among some 20 acres of Bramley Apple Orchards and meadows, and with amazing views over the Armagh Hill side. With self catering pods and bell tents on offer. You can use their hot tub, games room and the play park.

The Jungle

Basque in the glory of the great outdoors with a camping trip at The Jungle. Situated just outside Moneymore in an idyllic and natural environment. Surrounded with rivers, forests, rolling hills, ponds and wildlife, you will get the full spectrum of nature’s finest gifts. With lots to entertain the children on-site. Round Lake

A tranquil lakeside destination set in the heart of the lush Clogher Valley. With its own on site caravan park, close to Blessingbourne Mountain Bike Trails, Fermanagh Lakelands and the Carleton Trail. It has. A play park on-site and a fantastic hub on the lake. With toilets, showers and a common room.

Gosford Forest

Gosford Forest just outside Armagh is a great place to stay for a few days. You can camp and bring your caravan here, they also have some Glamping pods. With gorgeous forests to explore and some fantastic facilities to keep the children entertained.

Little Acres

Little Acres Camping is in Armagh they accommodate for caravans, motorhomes and tents. They are within a five minute drive to Armagh City Centre.


Overlooking the peaceful countryside of Bushmills. Perfectly located in the beautiful North Antrim countryside and just a few minutes from the Giant’s Causeway, Old Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge. Featuring a children’s playpark and football field, indoor games room with TV, duck ponds and pathways and a dedicated dog walk.

Six Mile Water

The Six Mile Water caravan and camping Park lies on the tranquil and scenic shores of Lough Neagh. With a fantastic park at Lough shore park, Antrim castle gardens nearby and a great walk on the shore edge.

Castle Archdale

Castle Archdale Caravan Park is a 20 acre haven on the shores of Lough Erne, where they have top class facilities! With playgrounds, water sports, a shop, live music and children's entertainment. There is acres of space to explore with your family and pets. They have fully serviced pitches for tourer caravans. Space for tents and there are also some pods and luxury caravan hire too.

Castlewood Holiday Park

Based in Antrim, nestled in woodland and with scenic views of six mile water this holiday park has a range of accommodations and a wide range of facilities onsite. The kids will be entertained with a play parks or even a tree top high ropes course. And the adults can even indulge in a hot tub if required.
